Privacy Policy

Cine Rishta is a marketplace for film and entertainment crafts — actors, directors, cinematographers, and every other role that makes a film — to build a profile, showcase their work, and connect with recruiters and collaborators. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, plus a small amount the app generates as you use it.

• Account & identity — full name, email address, phone number (optional), profile photo, gender and date of birth (optional).
• Professional profile — craft/role, languages, pricing tiers, portfolio projects, and social links (Instagram, YouTube, website).
• Availability — calendar dates you mark as unavailable for bookings.
• Messages — text messages you exchange with other members inside the platform.
• Feedback — feature requests or suggestions you submit.
• Usage signals — profile view counts, project counts, and last-active timestamp.

Cine Rishta does not include any advertising or analytics SDK. We don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't build advertising profiles.

2. How we use it

• To run the marketplace — display your profile, power search and discovery, and enable messaging.
• To operate your account — sign you in, sync your profile across devices, and remember your availability and pricing.
• To improve the product — feature requests help us prioritise what to build next.
• To keep the platform safe — reviewing profiles before they go live and investigating abuse reports.

3. What's public vs. private

Cine Rishta is a directory by design, so parts of your profile are meant to be seen by other members. Other information stays private.

Messages are only visible to the sender and recipient. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Information is shared only with the infrastructure providers described below, and where required by law.

4. Third-party services

Cine Rishta is built on Google Firebase. These services process data on our behalf:

• Firebase Authentication & Google Sign-In — handles sign-in, including your name, email, and profile photo if you sign in with Google.
• Cloud Firestore — stores your profile, projects, messages, and availability data.
• Firebase Storage — stores photos you upload.

We do not use any separate advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs beyond this Firebase infrastructure.

5. Storage & security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Google Cloud infrastructure. Access within Firestore and Storage is restricted by security rules scoped to your account and to what your profile has chosen to make public.

6. Retention & deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and its data yourself from the Cine Rishta mobile app, or request deletion by email if you don't have app access — see our Account & Data Deletion page for both options. Email requests are completed within 30 days, except where a copy must be kept to satisfy a legal obligation or resolve a dispute.

7. Your choices

• Access & correction — review and edit most of your profile at any time.
• Deletion — request full account deletion as described above.
• Export — email us to request a copy of your data.
• Optional fields — phone number, date of birth, gender, and social links can be left blank.

8. Age requirement

Cine Rishta is intended for working professionals in the film and entertainment industry and is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we will remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Cine Rishta after a change means you accept the updated policy.
